The film provides a visual expression of the protagonist’s psychological defense mechanism, as she experiences an extreme situation in which her body freezes and her voice falls silent. As she enters her dissociative world to distance herself from the situation, she clings to past memories in which she felt safe and protected, until the horrifying reality takes over and disrupts her recollections.
